With the new Tiles/Icons (1.3.3118) on the Portal "Actives" and "Favorites" here are a couple of comments/feedback:
1) Some of my device names are long covering 2 lines at the top of the tile. Sometimes the second line gets covered by the device Icon.
2) Current dim Level and Power consumption are now gone. Kinda liked those. Can they be put in the tile somewhere?
Hue bulb ICON being a color, maybe OK, but I'm wondering if a color dot in the tile would be better
3) I do like the Icon representations for the most part, particularly the blinds. Its more exciting than the slider buttons.
4) In Favorites, I put the ZWave multisensor 6. Before I could see everything (temp, light level, etc.).
Now all I get is a square box ICON showing nothing.
5) When controlling the dim level or hue color, you have to have a long click on the tile to get to the controls.
A short click will turn the device off (or on). Have inadvertently done a short click a couple of times by mistake instead of a long click and
ended up turning the device off.
When doing accidentally turning the device off on the Portal->Actives, its a pain, for you have to go somewhere
else on the GUI to turn the device back on. Before hand turning the device off on the Portal->Actives, the device still stayed
on the Portal->Actives and you could easily turn it back on if you turned it off by mistake.
6) White Icon denoting "ON" versus Grey Icon denoting "OFF". I'm not always certain which is which. Suggest some symbol to denote
ON vs OFF.

Thanks for the report Tommy! Some feedback by number:

1) I'll see if there is a way we can auto shrink the device name if it's too long.

2) Dim level is coming to the tiles. Power consumption won't be unless we get more feedback demanding it smile

3) Just want to confirm you're seeing the three different blinds icons, all open, closed, and open half way (when set to something other than 100 or 0, it will show the halfway icon).

4) This is in the Climate tab, so no need for it in the Favorites. In fact, it shouldn't allow you to add that device to the Favorites, so that's a (very minor) bug.

5) I see what you're saying about the tile disappearing from Actives when you inadvertently press it. I'll see if we can add a grace period where it doesn't disappear immediately.

6) There was actually an issue where the "off" icons were not rendered as dark as they should have been. So you're absolutely right it looks too close to the "on", it wasn't supposed to be! Will be fixed in the next update.

Thanks!!

I second the dim state on all tiles too! (item 2 here) As a suggestion, if a device is set up as "Dimmable = True", I think the tile should just be the rotary dim level indicator (as it is when long-pressed), and colored representative of the color-changeable bulb. If not an RGB bulb, then maybe give some color options (instead of grey, item 6) for the initial device setup. - I too have dealt with the long-press vs. click-off problem (item 5)! No likey!!
Customizable icons wold be nice too, maybe even supporting .png .jpg .gif images? An OutletLinc is not always an actual outlet, it's often a table lamp, or string lights, or whatever.

Multisensors definitely need to convey more data (item 4), even if it requires a two-tile space.

Another request I have is not in the portal, but when you select events, or scenes, you can open the event and see what trigger(s), condition(s) and actions are involved, but should you want to change something you have to select the menu button, select "Edit Event" then select the event again. WHY?!? I think when one is viewing the event, one should be able to click a button to edit it right there and then! /if there's concern of accidental editing, have a popup confirmation window interrupt the action. Same with scenes.

Thanks for the feedback Kevin! Regarding the issue with the long press, what device are you guys using? I'm curious if this is device specific in any way.

Regarding customizing icons, reading your suggestion an idea popped into my head. We'll add a field that allows you to name a different file name. Then you just drop the icon in the icons folder. When present, it will always use that icon instead of others. We'll have options for on/off/dim/color icons. The color is very simple, it just needs to be transparent, and then CastleOS fills it in. Thanks for the suggestion!

What's missing from the multisensor? It should be showing every value the sensor reports. A future update will allow long press to show sensor history graphs.

Regarding your comment about editing, I agree, especially in the context of the new UI. I.e. if you're in those screens, you're probably there to edit anyways. Otherwise you likely didn't need to leave the portal.

Thanks!!!!

Regarding the long press, I use my Samsung phone or a laptop with touchpad, either way it is not intuitive. Just lose the switch and go straight to the dial without the long press needed. Dim level will be displayed, color can be too for Hue or other RGB lights .What would be really cool is if you could make the dimming dial "truly live" E. G. The light dims as you move the dial
As for the multi sensor, I was running on the words of the OP and his experience. It WOULD BE nice to have the sensor in the favs with its data, but so far I have yet to deploy a MS, I'm still debating which one to choose. My system is all Insteon so far not sure what other protocol to embrace for additional IO's - locks, irrigation, colored lights etc.
That sounds like a great solution to the custom icons!

Regarding the 3 blinds icon,
a) When closed shows as grey'd out fully closed blind icon.
b) When partially open, shows a white partially open blind icon.
c) When fully open, sameas b)....shows the same white partially open blind icon. When I check the dim level, it shows 99%. My guess is that when the autoview blind fully opens it reports back 99% instead of 100%. Suggestion then is if the % level is oh say 95% or greater, to show the blind icon as fully open.

@tommy, yup that's exactly it, I made that adjustment, will be in next release.

@kevin We'll wait for more feedback on whether the dimmer dial show show by default or after a long press, right now it's keeping a consistent aesthetic. Regarding it being truly live, it updates every time you release it. We could switch it to be live ,but the issue is many bulbs have limited update rates and we don't want to overwhelm them. We'll see how that progresses...

Thanks again for the feedback!
