Hello,

I am attempting to enable my INSTEON USB Adapter (model 2448A7) and I cannot seem to get it to acknowledge the INSTEON USB adapter in setting. Can you please provide a brief set of instructions about how to add the adapter?

Also, my activation status is listed as Trial Expired in the About section of the settings page. I thought the Castle OS came with the purchase of a hub. And the current build is listed as 1.3.2212 (Merrimac). Is this the latest stable build?

Thanks

Is a COM port showing in the INSTEON settings?

For the trial, you'll need to activate the hub with your license code. That should've come in a separate email, if it didn't no problem I can reissue it.

2212 is the current latest, yes..

The INSTEON settings show COM1 and COM3. Not sure which one to pick but I left it set to COM1.
I checked through my email and I do not see an activation license code for the hub. Please reissue the license.
Thanks!

It doesn't matter what COM port I choose in the INSTEON settings, I still get the message "PLM ID is not loaded".

Okay, once again dumb luck prevails. I set the INSTEON hub to 2413U USB PLM (even though I have 2448A7) and COM 3. I also set the functionality to enabled and then rebooted the hub. It now picks up the PLM ID for my PLM. Another win by hacking away at this system. This has got to be cleaner for the average Joe to use this system.

I still do not have a license for my hub. Checked my email and I don't see that I was ever sent the license. Can you please send this?

Now off to figure out how to manually link an INSTEON LampLinc device.

Am I going to have a problem down the road when you add the 2448A7 USB adapter to the list of INSTEON PLMs? I set the INSTEON hub to 2413U USB PLM since 2448A7 is not in the list. Just wondering if once you update the list to add the 2448A7 if I will have to re-add all of my INSTEON devices.
Thanks for sending the license.

Hey David, just to clarify for reference, the 2413U and 2448A7 are functionally the same on the CastleOS interface side. They both present themselves as the same type of Insteon serial interface. So selecting either option in the settings works with either adapter. The hubs are a little different, and need their specific setting choice to work correctly, however.
