Hi Chris,

I'm requesting support for the Insteon Smoke Bridge. This is the device made by Smarthome that connects First Alert smoke detectors to the insteon network so alerts can be sent via SMS & email when the detectors are triggered. I'm hoping this will not take a lot of work since this should be similar to the Insteon leak detector which you already support.

Thanks again for an awesome product.

Good news! Support for the Smoke Bridge has been added and is coming in the next release!

Hello,

Looking at how you knocked it out of the park on Directv SHEF Protocol...
What do you think about the Samsung Smart TV products?
http://developer.samsung.com/samsung-web-api
also found this:

I am going to start looking at Gemote also, it looks promising.

Hopeful that some common functionality (volume, Mute, Source, up>,down>,left>,right>, etc) could be obtained.
What do you think?

Hey Tommy, we're waiting on Honeywell to release their API, it's still in beta. As soon as it's released, we'll support it!

I see you added support for Nest thermostats, will you have something for Nest smoke detectors as well?

Thanks

Yes, the Nest Protect is supported as well. You get custom alerts from them, i.e. location and type (fire, CO), and you can have custom events based on those alerts. So it's fully integrated in every way.

Smart TVs are coming! Don't have a firm ETA yet though.

Hey James, unfortunately those platforms aren't powerful enough for our voice capability. However, later in 2015 it may be possible to run CastleOS without voice control (what we call the Core Service) on Linux on the Pi.

Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris, I see also that Logitech's Harmony also supports the Honeywell WiFi Thermostat. I'm doubtful that Honeywell will open their APIs to the public anytime soon. Could you contact Honeywell about making some sort of private arrangement to get access to their APIs?

This may be a bit out there, but how about something like Unique Automation's Bathomatic (http://www.bath-o-matic.com/html/EN/products/bathomatic/bathomatic.html). I know I can increase my HA budget if I can tell my wife that after a hard day at work she can come home, walk in the front door, say "computer, draw me a bath, 104 degrees", walk back to the bathroom, and have the bath ready and waiting.

How would you want to use the Tellstick with CastleOS? I'm not sure I fully understand what it can do?

That's something you can do now with our custom scripting feature smile
