I am having trouble finding a voice control solution that will scale to a large home, but I think CastleOS might work. I am thinking of having 10 or 11 Kinects ceiling mounted throuout the house using USB over CAT6 run to the home server. Has anyone else done a similer implentation?

CastleOS does support this with the version 1 of the Kinect. For version 2, due to bandwidth requirements, you'll have to have dedicated mini PCs at each end location.

Note that on the back end, you'll need a USB bus for each Kinect, and the lower cost adapters that don't provide the full USB 2.0 bandwidth will not work.

Great. So if I went the mini PC route, how would they all integrate together?

When you say USB bus, you mean something like this? https://www.startech.com/support/PEXUSB3S2E2I
PCIe slots are limited, and I think only 1 port could be used on each device, correct? Is there a way to get a single card that can support two or more Kinects, or a way to do this with active powered USB hubs?

Thank you!

Correct about the PCI card. This is really targeted more at a larger chassis, for instance a rack mounted server chassis or a tall tower. You can get a few PC cards in there.

An alternative is the new stick PCs, plugged into TVs in various rooms.

In terms of integration together, each of them is ultimately assigned as a zone for voice control, and they all talk back to the CastleOS Core Service for command and control of the system.
