I think this is wishful thinking since Honeywell has home automation they use for themselves.... but....
I use the Honeywell Lynx Touch 7000 security panel with a cell and wi-fi card. It has z-wave capabilities too but is not compatible with Castle as of now.
Hopefully???

absolutely!

Huh, you're in luck, the last couple of releases actually does support the Lynx! That said, it's untested (we don't have that panel yet). Want to test with us?

I have port forwarded to my ipv4 address the 3 ports listed in the folder in file explorer. 80, 8080 that are tcp and 1701 that is a udp port. I have also forwarded port 25 for my emails that one works fine!
Any suggestions?

I can easily check with my ISP to see if they can be unblocked if blocked.
How can I see if they are being rerouted?

Chris Cicchitelli wrote:
You don't need 1701. The other ports should be working, if you can access CastleOS via those ports on the internal network (which I presume you can), then it's likely either being routed to the wrong internal IP address, or those ports are blocked by your ISP.

I must have misunderstood, in your post you said they may have been rerouted to a different internal IP address.
I do have access on the internal network.
I will call the ISP on Monday and update afterwards. Thanks as always

arm/disarm, garage door open/close is not z-wave. I kept the alarm seperate for security reasons (hacking ive seen on you tube). Can you get honeywell to see castleOS as another keypad like my phone via their app maybe?

Status of system too obviously. Touch is capable of 10 z wave connection without honeywell charging you for services but I wanted Castle to do all that and honeywell just for security.

I only list these things as a wish list!
The Lynx touch has a windows app that could be integrated into the castleos like the thermostats and enable full control of and viewing of the system via the hub.
Let me know if this is still possible, and as always thank you for your patience and help with my learning curve!

Sorry for the delay... Also for a trigger. The garage entry is nowhere near the front or rear doors and not near the kinect in the living area. SO instead of getting more connects I could use the alarm disarm as a trigger for scenes and rules.
Thanks

After ordering and installing Insteon dimable light switches I can not find out where I can locate the Address to use to add a device.
I believe that castleOS recognizes insteon negating the need for a hub. I presume it is a "switch link" for model and the fan switch on off only would be a on/off module, or "switch link" too?
I do not have any instruction as to the pairing. So I guess that when I enter the info on add a device under the insteon menu it appears?
Thanks in advance as always!

Thank you! Cant believe I missed those! WOW!
I ask the question here for expediency sake.....
I have a z stick gen 5 will that is not recognizing the switches.
I am not sure if it is supposed to.
Do I need the serial modem interface/ the insteon hub for home kit/insteon hub central controler?
I plan to get all the swithes, cameras and lights from insteon.

Hi Tim, the INSTEON address is on a sticker on the INSTEON device itself. It will be in the format of 11.XX.22. You do need an interface to talk to INSTEON, either the USB adapter or the INSTEON hub, we support all of them.

Thanks!

The new insteon hub says it does not have a PLM, is that a problem?
I dont know what it is but I see the acronym on the site a lot.
If I get the hub can I use the insteon tab under driver settings?
Does no PLM mean no bridge? I see its 2245-222 so the settings should work depending on the port.
Im learning something!

Suggestions on LED lighting

I would very much appreciate any help on this topic!
I want to install 4 recessed 60 watt alternative color changing LED, 10, 40 watt alternative Color changing LED and 3 led light strips in and around the house.
I want these lights to follow a similar command string, such as slowly changing color lights to coincide with different holidays. Red/green, purple green and gold for mardi gras... you get the idea.
I would like to do this with minimal connectivity to the CastleOS HUB in that I only want to use 1 or 2 USB ports.
Any suggestions as to the manufacturer and any anecdotal stories of success or failure would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you all in advance!
Tim

Thanks as always for your direction. I am getting a pretty good system going and really enjoying the HUB.
A good purchase and its awesome that I can keep this stuff in house!
Thanks very much!

Getting Castle to recognize Insteon dimmer switches via the INsteon serial USB 2413U
I have the drivers installed via the exe file provided on the instructions. I have com port 3 assigned to the Serial USB 2413U. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers making the com port disappear and reappear to ensure I was correct with the driver installation. I installed 2 dimmer switches and multi linked them to each other to operate a hall light. I added the devices as insteon devices neither a slave since insteon multi links them together. I entered the address in the correct format 44.D7.76 added them to 2 groups and used Select Linc as the model. The typed was dimmer switch.
If I turn on the lights manually CastleOS does not update. If I try to turn them on via the Castle manual input on the device menu it shows up green and at 100% for about 2 seconds then turns red and 0%.
I only have these 2 switches installed and am waiting to be sure I can get this going before installing the rest of the lighting and colored LEDs.
Thanks for any experience or guidance you can provide!

I got the PLM ID from the 2413U under settings and enabled insteon so the wordy first message is mostly moot.
Do I need to manage the insteon network from the settings menu or will CastleOS see the ID under devices?
IF so what is the group number. I presume its for a hub and not for the USB.
DO I link Castle OS with my switches under manage insteon network and if so do I press link on settings first and then link the switch or do I set the switch in link mode then click link?

I got the switches to link! YEAH!

NOw CastleOS will recognize that they are on and off when I manually turn them on and off but when I try to activate them using the software from castleos they will not work.
OK HERES THE ANSWER!
You have to multi link the switches to CastleOS. So Press the linking button on the Insteon switch until it beeps, then press the link button under settings. That will link it one way. Then press the link button on CastleOS and then press the set button on the Insteon switch. This will link the switch to Insteon both ways!

HI!
After a power outage I can no longer add any insteon devices. I am able to use my devices already installed: lights and door locks.
I rebooted several times and did see the DOS window reloading CORE services.
It says OOPS an error has occurred. I guess I knew that!
I am not able to rectify it. I was in the middle of adding insteon new dimmer switches when the power outage happened.
When I first bought the HUB I had the same error but I just cant recall the surrounding issue!
I really do need some help!

Now that I feel that I am not near as inexperienced as I was the last time we spoke about this topic (and I apologize for that) I was hoping that I could request just 1 thing?
If CastleOS could discover when the Lynx was in Away, Home or Stay Modes then ALL of the events could be configured with the "system mode changes" under the triggered event type steps within the event features of CastleOS.
This would be fantastic and everything else would be able to be controlled from those simple identifiers.
Thanks for your additional consideration!
Tim

It has the capability to control up to 10 z wave devices without having to pay a monthly payment. I initially used it to control the door locks but I found the zwave controller signal to be weak. I now use CastleOS on a timer to control them. It was nice to use the code to unlock the door and have the door lock disarm the alarm for me though! The distance between the panel and my hub is about 20 feet and 1 wall. The rules area only allows zones to be activated or deactivated with the away or stay triggers. I can not find a zwave controlled that way in scenes, rules or in the zwave program
