So this hub is supposed to be the hub of all hubs - media streaming, protocol integrating, media serving end-all... but we can't load any other programs or apps without fear of voiding (an unwritten) warranty. So... what CAN I do with it now? Can I install Pandora One (which additionally requires Adobe Air)? Can I install the I-heart Radio app? Can I install Chrome browser so all my stuff will be synced? Can I install the WD Mycloud apps to access the media I have there Which then asks - Can I install the "Twonky Media server" which is integrated in WD Mycloud?
Anybody else have similar requests?
Please let us all know. Thanks Chris! and Merry Christmas and/or Happy Hanukkah!!

Hey Kevin, just to clarify, the media server apps Plex, Kodi, and Emby are approved for use and won't violate the warranty. Installing Chrome also is fine. In addition, Windows Universal apps like Pandora and others are supported, so long as they come from the Windows app store. But once you get outside that you run the risk of causing system conflicts, which is why we have the restriction. Many apps will install without issue, however many do create issues. It's not possible for us to test each app out there, or to support the hub each time it is crippled by a bad app, hence the warranty limitation.
That said, many apps work just fine, with or without a manual tweaking. It's not that the hub can't run them, it's just that we can't support any issues caused by them. So we recommend that you either be very proficient in Windows troubleshooting in case something goes wrong, or be sure to make a system image backup so you have something to restore to.
(Also, under no circumstances should anyone every install antivirus, firewall, or malware protection. It's already preloaded and any third party apps of that kind will cause problems.)
Hope that helps clarify it, and happy holidays as well!!!
