Hey Jason, sorry for the issue you are seeing. I think you are seeing an issue we have seen, where the website is not being loaded correctly by the web server on installation. The good news is it's a very easy fix, just uninstall and re-install the Core Service. It's a fluke when it happens, and we've never seen it happen twice in a row.

Once again, we are deeply sorry for the inconvenience!

We just use Google smile Everything is fully indexed in Google's search engine, so you can search our site there...

EDIT: We have search! Click here: http://www.castleos.com/forum/search.aspx

Hello - Im looking for your basic installation FAQ. I've loaded your software and get a prompt for credentials but the ones I used to sign up do not work.

Hi Michael! Instructions are here: http://www.castleos.com/forum/topic33-how-to-setup-the-core-service.aspx

The password you use on CastleOS.com is not the same as CastleOS in your home, that has a default username of "admin" and password of "password1234" which you can change after first login.

Thanks!!

HI!
After a power outage I can no longer add any insteon devices. I am able to use my devices already installed: lights and door locks.
I rebooted several times and did see the DOS window reloading CORE services.
It says OOPS an error has occurred. I guess I knew that!
I am not able to rectify it. I was in the middle of adding insteon new dimmer switches when the power outage happened.
When I first bought the HUB I had the same error but I just cant recall the surrounding issue!
I really do need some help!

Hi Tim, I'd be happy to do a remote troubleshoot with you and take a look! Can you send a remote support request and I'll log in?

I am unable to:
1. edit the admin password - slow response, then general error message
2. add a new user - slow response, then general error message
3. access Castle OS through the Android app (using the web site from my phone works OK) - Windows Server 2012 R2 screen showing that Remote Web Access is turned off

All of these problems may be due to the fact that I'm running Castle OS on a Windows Server 2012 box with Windows Home Essentials. Any tips here?

Thanks. This has been a pretty rocky road for a new install. I hope it gets better...

Hi Louis, I just sent you an email as well, but in addition to that I would check that the Windows Server is allowing you to write to the configuration file. If the file system locked that down into a read only mode it would explain why you can't change the password or add a user.

The web app issue I mentioned in the email, that's Windows Server assigning port 80 to a default web app, not the CastleOS web app, and that can be changed in Windows settings.

After our last discussion my events still dont work. I do not get the circular event build up under the event tabs but when I look at the individual events. all of them will say that the next scheduled event is the next day and the last event never occurred.
I am nearing 50 days since castle events have worked for me.
Tomorrow I will message you my files so you can look at them.
Thanks again for your help!

I appreciate you checking in with me, thank you!
Its been 18 days since I responded to this thread via PM and email so I will add my response to the thread.
Today I discovered that CastleOS dumped my key again. I got back from vacation and so I don’t know when that happened to it.
This happened 9/19 as well. LIghts on in the morning. So if I have to check the lights every might why not just turn them off myself?
It doesn’t recognize all of my lightify lights. I have uninstalled them 3 times and tried to get Castle to see them by enabling Lightify after that. In addition, I can not control lightify at all from the Castle menu. It will not turn on/ off or change colors on the lights let alone use them in any event etc…
On 9/20/2017 I added a simple event. Turn on a lamp module every night at sunset. No conditions. It has never worked. It works with the insteon app though.
The portal active screen always shows a garage lightify light on even when its physically off or on for that matter. I try to turn it off under devices and it just turns back on even though the light is off. I thought that since CastleOS has dumped my license a couple of times and I had to reactivate lightify, insteon and zwave that these would reinstall the right way but they have not.

I have given up on the locks as I stated in the thread but I do think it’s the locks and not a castle issue.
Insteon works great and I recommend it to everyone.

CastleOS will not change to away mode in any of my events as a condition.

I use a 6 button insteon scene controller to activate a lamp module called away, and use that trigger to activate scenes.
I turn off the button to deactivate the trigger in events thereby deactivating the scenes.

I sure wish I could use my ecobee in these events and hope that the new release helps.
I keep hearing about it but dont know when it is expected.
WIndows will not install 1.15gB of updates saying that it does not have room for it. So I cant even get updates anyore bringing us back to
our circular discussion on the type of flash memory to get to clone the c drive.
